Great Sponsorship Debate- Suggestions?

Some of you may have noticed a few weeks ago I added a Promote You Biz, Cause or Group page to CarFreeBrad.com.  I had given it a little thought but never devised any true plan or strategy which fits with the whole idea of this blog.  Just peddling by the seat of my pants.

Well, there has been some feedback that forces me to actually think about sponsorship in a more serious manner.  The fact of the matter is that while living CarFree saves me a bundle of cash, I’m still a graduate student and after 9 months it seems that all my available cash goes toward CarFreeBrad.com and my start-up.  I’m not complaining because each is a true labor or love.  As we work to raise capital for Freight Farms to eliminate urban food deserts and start to solve world hunger, I just wish I had the cash to fund the whole project.  Alas, I do not!

This puts me in a bit of a pickle.  I need CarFreeBrad.com to become self-sustaining so that I can continue to buy school books(I try to avoid it but there’s always a few you need to buy) and work on this fresh food problem our country and the world is facing.

Here in lies the great debate.  What is the best way to do this?  I’d prefer not to plaster ads all over the site and instead partner with local businesses that can benefit from some exposure on CarFreeBrad.com and match up with the basic ethos of this whole thing.  But the fact of the matter is, I don’t have a lot of free time to solicit businesses that I think would be a good fit.  I often struggle to find time to write a mediocre post each day in a half-assed attempt to entertain while spreading the joys/struggles of trying to live CarFree!

The only thing I can think of is to ask you!  The CarFree readers that know what I’m all about, find the site entertaining and informative or just read to feel good that you’re not me on these last few mornings.  So please let me know what you think.  I’ll take opinions on what type of sponsorship you want to see and/or the best ways to go about incorporating ads into CarFreeBrad.com.
